Drago: “In the last few years in Serie C he has won with less pressure”

Coach Massimo Drago spoke to the microphones of TMW Radio during the broadcast A Tutta C

The calendars were drawn yesterday. What should we expect from Serie C this year?
“The history of recent years tells us that the teams with less pressure are often winning. The exception was Cesena, who won despite the pressure, while Juve Stabia won with a young team, the same thing for Mantova. The year before, FeralpiSalò had won, while the last play-offs were won by Carrarese and Lecco”.

Group B will have many well-known teams, but all with corporate problems.
“In Group B there are the so-called decayed nobles. Ascoli and Spal have lived years in Serie A and now we will have to see at a corporate level how the relationships with the fans will be managed despite the difficulty. Then there is Ternana, who will start again with a good DG like Foresti and who can also aspire to win the championship. Finally, Pescara with Baldini can be an outsider, but let’s not forget Torres, who will start again from a solid base and with some advantages over the others”.

In Group A, are Triestina, Vicenza and Padova still the favourites?
“On the podium I would put Vicenza in first place, because they have an important ownership and a coach who did very well last year. Padova must reconnect with their fans”.

Will there be much entertainment in Group C?
“It’s the most balanced group, with some of the most famous clubs in professional football. Even looking at the market we’re seeing the signings of Benevento, Avellino and Catania, who all start as favourites. Foggia is also looking for players who can do well in a beautiful and complicated club, just like in Trapani where there’s a president who has shown great ambition. There’s Capuano who will be able to have his say with Taranto, even if the stadium issue could create problems. Finally, Crotone is starting without too many expectations, which could be an advantage. They’ve hired an excellent coach and will be able to build a good path for themselves.”
