Napoli, Conte effect: very hard training in Dimaro and from today there is also ADL

Things are starting to get serious in Dimaro. Yesterday was the second day of retreat, the first with a double training session and Antonio Conte’s methodology immediately made itself felt. At the end of both training sessions, the image was the same: exhausted players on the ground, stretched out on the grass to absorb the effort both in terms of the duration of the training (with an extra first part closed to fans and press) and in terms of intensity of the athletic work without the ball. And the group’s response was positive, with a completely different attitude compared to last season, experiencing the effort with a smile and then discharging the fatigue in the icy waters of the stream adjacent to the field. At the end of each training session there is a thank you, player by player, from the coach: while waiting for the veterans of the European Championships and the Copa America, this is how the new Napoli and the bond between group and coach are being born.

And ADL has arrived
Yesterday evening Aurelio De Laurentiis also arrived at the retreat. The president of Napoli has completed his commitments, including the signing of Alessandro Buongiorno’s contract (which will be official today, he will join the second retreat in Castel di Sangro) and a meeting with the government and city institutions for the new Maradona stadium, and has reached Trentino. He will follow Antonio Conte’s first training sessions and will lead from there – in the presence of the sports director Manna – the state of the various market negotiations. Like every summer, but with the difference that this year in particular the maneuvers have been set up for some time on the instructions of Antonio Conte and carried forward by the new sports director Manna who has immediately had greater autonomy compared to the beginning of his predecessors.
