Jesus Navas: “Fifth final with Spain, I see similarities with the winning past”

Will be Jesus Navas to accompany Luis de la Fuente in the press conference on the eve of the Euro 2024 final between Spain and England. An honor that was granted to him by the captains of the Iberian team, Morata and Carvajal, as a gesture of deference towards a player who, at 38 years of age, will say goodbye to the national team after the match in Berlin.

Jesús Navas (Los Palacios, Seville, November 21, 1985) made his debut for the national team on November 14, 2009, in a friendly against Argentina at the now demolished Vicente Calderón stadium in Madrid. After 15 years of competition, the Sevillian feels proud because “it is incredible that in the five final stages in which I have participated, I have reached the final. This is a source of pride for me, I am very happy”, he told the official channels of the Federation.

“My teammates, the first day I arrived at the training camp, told me ‘We will definitely get there again this year because it has been like this in the past’. Navas also sees “similarities” between this team and the others who have also become champions with him in the team: There is a family, a great union. Last year we won the Nations League and this year we are in the final. I hope we can lift the Cup, we and all of Spain are very excited”.
