Just over 24 hours to go until the final. Tomorrow night England and Spain will face each other at the Olympiastadion in Berlin for the title of European champion. A clean path for the Red Furies who overwhelmingly won the group with Italy, Croatia and Albania and in the knockout phase they advanced to the round against Georgia, Germany after extra time and France.
England’s Path
Gareth Southgate’s national team struggled more but still won Group C, beating Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia. In the knockout stages, they overcame Slovakia, Switzerland and the Netherlands, not without some shocks.
Del Bosque’s words
The former Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosqueand former Real Madrid coach, spoke about tomorrow’s match: “Spain played very well, apart from a few minutes in one match, but otherwise they had extraordinary control of the games. It was a team that fueled many hopes of becoming champions. The depth on both wings was the distinctive feature of the team. Merino, Olmo, Nacho… even Jesus Navas himself who performed well against Mbappé. They will have one less day of rest and Italy noticed this in 2012”.
