Lecce, Fruchtl: “I learned from Neuer, now I want to test myself in Serie A”

Christian Fruchtlthe new Lecce goalkeeper, spoke today at a press conference introducing himself to his new fans after his arrival from Monaco: “I want to play in one of the five most important leagues in the world. I’ve watched a lot of Italian football and I can’t wait to get started”.

Is ground-up construction one of your characteristics?
“At Bayern Munich you have to start from the bottom with your feet, that’s definitely one of my characteristics.”

How would you describe your qualities?
“I learned a lot from Neuer, for me the best in the world. I can still learn a lot, especially from the Italian style of play.”

Have you already met Falcone?
“We’ve been together 3-4 times. He’s a good guy and a good goalkeeper. We’re a very close-knit group, even with the other goalkeepers. We talked a lot during training. Falcone and I will give our all for the good of Lecce.”

Sporting director Trinchera presented the new signing, also explaining his origins, speaking alongside the goalkeeper..
“He was born in 2000 and was acquired from Austria Vienna, where he was an absolute protagonist, always playing. He grew up in Bayern Munich and played in the youth teams of the German national team. In recent years he has acquired the experience we need for a difficult championship. He signed a three-year contract with an option for another two years in our favor”.
