How Empoli will play and how it can change after the first market moves

Empoli is one of the many Serie A teams that has changed technical leadership. How will the Azzurri team change with Roberto D’Aversa at the helm of the club of president and owner Fabrizio Corsi? The new coach of the Tuscan team has explained his ideas. “We have given two possibilities on the construction of the team, the numbers are interpretative. The 3-5-2 can change based on the top. What matters is the interpretation, the team can use more systems. For me you have to play in a certain way”. It is easier for the Tuscan club to start from a four-man defense base with a low midfield vertex that knows how to drop into the middle of the defenders and change tactical structure during the construction phase.

So many goodbyes: so much market to do
The new sporting director Roberto Gemmi will have a lot of work to do. It doesn’t scare him but he will have a squad to build in many departments up front. How many very heavy goodbyes: above all Sebastiano Luperto, Mbaye Niang, Elia Caprile and Niccolò Cambiaghi but not only. Mattia Destro, Etrit Berisha, Lorenzo Tonelli, Matteo Cancellieri, Youssef Maleh, Razvan Marin, Szymon Zurkowski, Alberto Cerri, Simone Bastoni, Viktor Kovalenko, Bartosz Bereszynski have also said goodbye due to the end of their loan or contract. A team (and more). They need a starter, a right back until Ebuehi returns to the top, a centre back after Luperto (and what will Ismaijli do?), at least three midfielders of which two starters, the centre forward (and his reserve?) and a left winger or second starter striker. Who will move up among the young players in the Primavera? We vote for Andrea Sodero, born in ’04 in Tuscany, offensive right winger.

The probable formation
? (Perisan); ? (Ebuehi), Ismaijli (Guarino), Walukiewicz (?), Cacace (Pezzella); Fazzini (?), ? (Grassi), ? (Belardinelli); Gyasi (Sodero), ? (Shpendi), ? (?)

Outgoing: Stojanovic, Goglichidze, Haas, Henderson, Merola, Capito, Herculano
