Turin, free transfer opportunities for Viola: Castrovilli is getting closer, Bonaventura’s idea

In via Viotti they are only waiting for the check for around 35 million euros (plus five million in bonuses, but we’ll talk about these later) signed by Aurelio De Laurentiis for the transfer of Alessandro Buongiorno to Napoli, then the incoming market will really get going. Net of the many names linked to Toro, the most important steps forward have been made towards a free agent, a player who would cost zero as a transfer fee and all that would be discussed is a salary. The pressure is all on Gaetano Castrovilli, a midfielder born in 1997 who has just been freed from Fiorentina. He is a profile in search of redemption and relaunch, also because physical problems and a serious knee injury have blocked him in the last two years, to the point of even causing the deal with Bournemouth to fall through last summer. The Granata offer is around one million euros, at the moment Toro is ahead in the race compared to Lazio and the feeling is that we could really get to the white smoke for the first reinforcement for the new coach Vanoli.

President Cairo, however, has in the meantime sensed another opportunity on a free transfer and again from Fiorentina, also with characteristics more or less similar to those of Castrovilli. Because the other name that came out of via Viotti is that of Giacomo Bonaventura, a wildcard in the midfield and three-quarters with 380 appearances in Serie A, even if his 35th birthday on August 22 inevitably imposes some reflection among the Granata managers. The former coach Ivan Juric has always shown the lack of quality in his squad, “Jack of Hearts” is a profile that would certainly fill that gap. The 1989-born player is liked by many, even Genoa is thinking about him, but Toro can participate in the negotiations with the player, also because there is no club to convince. Waiting, then, for the 35 million (plus five in bonuses) that will arrive from the huge capital gain Buongiorno to actually be reinvested.
