The end of an era, Ciro Immobile leaves Lazio to move to Turkey to Besiktas. The Biancoceleste president Claudio Lotito has given the green light to the transfer of the striker, who will sign a two-year contract (with an option) with the Turkish club. Immobile will say goodbye to the capital after eight seasons and 207 goals scored with the Biancoceleste shirt (which brought him to the top of the club’s all-time goalscorer rankings). In his adventure at Lazio he brought home an Italian Cup, two Italian Super Cups, a Golden Shoe and three goalscorer rankings.
As mentioned, two days ago an agreement had already been reached between Immobile and the Istanbul club on the basis of a two-year contract worth 12 million euros net in total plus an option for a further season. Lazio accepted the offer of three million euros, which Besiktas sent in the late afternoon yesterday. Shortly before, on the sidelines of the press conference to present the new Biancoceleste signing Noslin, sporting director Fabiani had expressed himself in this way regarding the rumours about Immobile: “Should an official offer for Immobile arrive, the club will evaluate what to do”. In the last few hours, as mentioned, the decisive acceleration has arrived. Eight seasons and 340 games later, the Immobile era at Lazio is over.
