No Arabia for Galtier: Al-Duhail won’t let the French coach go

No Saudi Arabia for Christophe Galtier. The former Paris Saint-Germain coach has been linked on several occasions with Al-Ittihad as a replacement for Marcelo Gallardo. What seemed like a possibility of changing the bench will most likely not come to fruition. The possible negotiation should in fact not come to fruition with the French coach who will therefore continue to lead Al-Duhail, a Qatari club.

The monster offer for Galtier
Yet the Saudi sovereign fund was ready to give the coach a golden salary, as is now the norm for those who choose the Saudi Pro League. Al-Ittihad would have put on the table a salary of 3 million euros net per month for Galtier for three years, practically 36 million euros in total. A sum that would have made anyone waver and that did not call the agreement into question in the slightest.

Al-Duhail do not want to let the coach go
According to the online edition of the newspaper The Teamthe coach would not be a candidate to leave Al-Duhail. The club’s president in fact has no intention of letting his coach go while the team began training on July 1st. In recent seasons, Galtier coached Saint-Etienne, from 2009 to 2018, Lille from 2017 to 2021, Nice in the 2021-2022 season and Paris Saint-Germain in the 2022-2023 season.
