Genoa, training resumes and Gilardino welcomes the first purchase: here is Zanoli

Vacation is over. The recess bell rings, ideally. Genoa resumes training today 45 days after the home win against Bologna that said goodbye to the 2023-2024 season. Coach Alberto Gilardino awaits his boys at the “Gianluca Signorini” sports center to begin training in preparation for the retreat in Moena that will start on July 13th. The players have returned one by one and some have arranged to meet in a hotel in the center of Genoa to meet up and further cement a group that, seeing what happened last year and the year before, is healthier and more cohesive than ever.

First days of testing
Eleventh place in the standings represents an excellent starting point for a team that has been able to have its say even against high-ranking teams, stopping in turn, some once or some in the first and second leg, the teams that gravitated towards the top of the table. Now, however, it is time to reset everything and think about the year to come with the rossoblù coach busy planning a month and a half of work that will lead first to the debut in the Coppa Italia against Reggiana and then to the home match against Inter that will open the championship. In these first few days, Badelj and his teammates will undergo physical and athletic tests and then all on the pitch under the orders of Gila.

One more Zanoli
And with the group there will also be the new purchase Alessandro Zanoli. The right winger who arrived from Napoli reached the Ligurian capital yesterday and today will undergo the usual medical tests. After which he will be available to his new coach and will meet his teammates. The 2000-born player is the first real purchase of the new season for the Grifone, a loan operation with the right to redeem that will become mandatory upon reaching certain objectives.
