Sebastian Luperto is getting closer and closer to Cagliari. According to what was gathered by the editorial staff of TMW, the defender will undergo the usual medical tests tomorrow morning before signing the contract that will bind him to the Sardinian club. The player will take the tests in Rome and then leave for Sardinia, where he will join Davide Nicola, a coach who was made official by the rossoblù just today.

“Davide Nicola is the new coach of Cagliari: the coach has signed a contract until June 30, 2026 with the option to extend for a further season.
Piedmontese from Vigone (born in San Giovanni di Luserna, province of Turin, on March 5, 1973), he brings with him a long and solid experience in the world of Italian football, gained first as a player and then on the bench. Genoa, Turin and Ternana, among others, are the teams in which he played as a defender, finishing at Lumezzane. It was here that he also began his career as a coach, immediately coming close to the Serie C play-offs. He then moved to Livorno, in Serie B, and at the first attempt they were promoted to the top flight through the play-offs. After the stint at Bari, Crotone chose him for the historic first season in Serie A, culminating in salvation thanks to a disruptive second half of the season. Udinese, Genoa and Torino (between 2018 and 2021) are the prelude to the experiences with Salernitana (from February 2022) and with Empoli (from January 2024) for two stays in Serie A imbued with his technical, tactical and charismatic qualities.
