Today is Di Gregorio’s day: he will be the new number 1 of Juve

Today will be Michele Di Gregorio’s day. In fact, the now ex-Monza goalkeeper will arrive at JMedical to undergo medical checks and then sign the contract, which will tie him to the Bianconeri for the next five years. The goalkeeper born in 97 will cost the Old Lady around 18 million euros, but Monza will not collect the full amount because 10% of the resale will go to Inter, by virtue of the agreement made between the Brianza team and the Nerazzurri.

Di Gregorio ready to take up Szczesny’s legacy.
Michele Di Gregorio, last season, had an important year with the Monza jersey, so much so that he was named MVP, for the second consecutive time, by the Brianza fans. The goalkeeper born in 97, in the 2023/2024 season, collected 34 appearances, of which 33 in Serie A and one in the Coppa Italia, conceding 37 goals and managing to keep a clean sheet on 14 occasions. Di Gregorio, however, was also chosen as the best goalkeeper of this last championship, this testifies, even more, to the growth of the now ex Monza player. Di Gregorio will have a tough task and will have to be good at not making us miss Szczesny. The Polish goalkeeper, in the last two seasons, has always been one of the best of the Bianconeri and certainly remains among the strongest interpreters in the role. Thiago Motta and Giuntoli have never had any doubts about the former Monza player’s qualities and believe he can be on par with the Old Lady, but only the pitch will be able to prove the Bianconeri right or wrong.

Szczesny, the Al Nassr track has faded: now the Monza hypothesis is gaining ground.
Al Nassr is looking for a goalkeeper for next season, but it seems to have given up on Szczesny. In fact, the Saudi club, in the last few hours, has been trying to buy Ederson from Manchester City. At this point the only solution for Juventus’ Polish goalkeeper seems to be Monza, but in this case they will have to find a compromise on an economic level, because Szczesny’s salary is too high for the Brianza club. One thing is certain, the Polish goalkeeper does not want to become a problem for the Old Lady and he recently declared it in an interview with Foottrucktv: “I want to respect the conditions of the contract. But if the club that has given you so much needs to terminate the contract and needs your help, you should be able to help them”. The market is made of choices, even difficult ones, like in this case, but Szczesny will not be Juventus’ goalkeeper and will leave his number 1 shirt to Di Gregorio.
