Experienced addition to the SudTirol defence ahead of next season. The Alto Adige club has in fact announced the arrival of Luca Ceppitellilast year at Feralpisalò. Below is the note from the red and white club:
“FC Südtirol announces that it has acquired the rights to the sporting performances of the footballer Luca Ceppitelli.
The defender, 34 years old, has signed a one-year contract with the red and white club, which runs until June 30, 2025. Last season he wore the Feralpisalò jersey, with whom he had a contract expiring on June 30, 2024.
Luca Ceppitelli, born in Castiglione del Lago in the province of Perugia on 11 August 1989, central defender or full-back, comes from the Garda club, a newcomer in the last Serie B championship, from which he was released at the end of the season.
Raised as a footballer in the Perugia youth sector, on 13 May 2007 he made his debut in C1 with the first team in a 4-2 win in Giulianova. In January 2009 he moved in co-ownership to Andria, playing in Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. He played the following two seasons (2009-2010 and 2010-2011) in Lega Pro Prima Divisione.
In the summer of 2011 he moved to Bari, in Serie B. He made his debut in the second division on 5 October 2011, in the victorious away match at Crotone. He scored his first goal in Serie B on 25 August 2012, on the first day of the championship against Cittadella. He ended the season with 5 goals in 37 appearances. In 2013-2014, he scored 6 goals, thus becoming Bari’s top-scoring defender. During the summer transfer window, Bari and Parma agreed to renew the co-ownership of the player, who however remained in the possession of the Emilian team in Serie A. On 7 August 2014, Cagliari purchased Ceppitelli from Parma on a permanent basis. He made his debut in Serie A on 31 August away to Sassuolo (1-1). He made 27 appearances between the championship and the Coppa Italia. On 25 August 2015 he underwent surgery for an inguinal hernia. He returned the following October, in Cagliari-Cesena (3-1), seventh matchday of Serie B. With 26 appearances and one goal he contributed to Cagliari’s return to Serie A.
On 4 November 2017 he scored his first goal in Serie A in Cagliari-Verona (2-1). At the end of the season he scored another 2 decisive goals for the salvation of the Sardinians: in the 34th in one of the direct clashes against Udinese and in the 38th and final matchday against Atalanta. On 15 September 2019, in the Parma-Cagliari match (1-3), he scored his first brace in Serie A.
On October 5, 2022, he reached an agreement with Venezia, in Serie B, with whom he signed a contract until the end of the season (22 appearances). On July 4, 2023, he was purchased by Feralpisalò, newly promoted to Serie B, with whom he played 32 games (2 assists).
He has a total of: 154 games in Serie A with 7 goals and 1 assist; 178 games in Serie B with 14 goals and 5 assists.
