TMW Radio

Talking about the topics of the day TMW Radioduring Maracanawas the journalist and former footballer Stephen Impallomeni.

A comment on the Serie A calendar?
“I like the asymmetrical calendar, I also like that the last two days are at the same time. However, I notice that for some teams the last 5-6 games are very tough.”

Atalanta, Zaniolo official:
“He’s a team to keep an eye on, Atalanta could have a great championship. Excellent deal with him.”

Chiesa’s farewell to Juventus now seems certain:
“I see him as a good fit for Roma, he has the characteristics that are missing. He is not a goalscorer, but he is a player who, if well motivated, carves out a specific and important role and can change the face of a team. He is the kind of player who carries the crowd, we need someone like him”.

Koopmeiners close to Juve:
“For me he is strong but he doesn’t change the face of a team. Rabiot is different but he has a different anger, he has a significant tear. For me the Dutchman is not worth 60 million”.

How do you see the big teams in Serie A today?
“Inter in front of everyone, then the usual group where there can be disappointments and surprises. Of the Roman teams, I would wait for Roma. Lazio is moving in an analytical and intelligent way, with strong and fast players, and there is Baroni who wants to assert himself. Fiorentina also intrigues me. Juve will have to give some answers, given what happened last year, Allegri’s farewell and so on”.

Do you agree with Calafiori’s decision to go to Arsenal?
“The deal was made more by Bologna. 4 million net per year is good, he had to take advantage of the moment and maybe he could have taken more. In any case, Arsenal is the ideal club for him”.

Tomorrow Fonseca arrives at Milan. What do you expect from him?
“I met him, he is a very good coach, ambitious, but that doesn’t mean he would do anything to win. He needs to acclimatise, to embrace the history of the club. He needs to scratch more though”.
