The former defender Ciro Ferraranow an ambassador for Serie A, spoke on the sidelines of the presentation of the 2024/25 Serie A calendar, starting by answering the question about whether he intends to speak to Conte before the match against Juventus: “Imagine if I call Conte before such an important match. Antonio and I are friends and we talk often, when it happens, but now that the championship is starting he should be left alone to work. Inter is equipped but all the teams try to eliminate the difference: now it is difficult to understand who is better equipped. One thing is certain: whoever wants to keep up with Inter must run immediately, without thinking about anything else, or it becomes difficult”.
What would Maradona say about Conte as Napoli coach?
“Apart from the fact that they met in the past, I think Conte scored his first goal in Serie A with Lecce against Napoli. He would be absolutely happy, De Laurentiis’ choice is right: after a really difficult year he can give something more and bring Napoli back to where it deserves to be”.
