Nicola Berti: “Carboni is a crystalline talent, but he can’t be a starter at Inter: a loan is better”

The former Inter winger Nicholas Berti praises the qualities of the Nerazzurri starlet Valentin Carboni in an interview given to Sports Courier today: “We’re talking about a crystalline talent, if it were up to me I’d keep him at Inter for life. But at the same time we need to be objective, also considering the squad currently available to Simone Inzaghi. He can’t yet play as a starter in this Inter and in the current stage of his career he now needs to be part of a team that can field him from the first minute. We’re talking about a 19-year-old boy, it’s better to send him to gain more experience somewhere, maybe for another year, so that he can grow further”.

What struck you about his way of playing?
“In some plays he is simply brilliant. I know him, I love him because he is a serious guy. But we must be objective, Inter is this now and in any case there is no rush because the future is all on the player’s side”.

What could someone with Carboni’s technical skills add to Inter’s attack?
“Certainly a lot of quality, but I would like to point out that Inter have already added a striker in the Iranian Taremi in attack. He is a strong and experienced striker, ready for Italian football”.
