Genoa, Ottolini: “Suslov is not a lead. Spence? At the moment the conditions are not there”

In the press conference, the sporting director of Genoa Mark Ottolini he spoke about various market topics, also answering questions about the many individuals linked to the rossoblù:

Zanoli and Suslov?
“Zanoli, I said I will not speak again until one day he shows up at the headquarters. As for Suslov, it is not a lead we are following.”

Spence option gone?
“There are still 55 days of the market. Anything can happen. As of today, the conditions are not right to bring Spence to us.”

Genoa acted early.
“We have worked hard in the last three or four sessions to get to where we are today. If the championship started tomorrow, we have a team to field. Then it can be improved but the team would be ready. That’s why we prepared in advance. The market is still very long and from our point of view it will be about reaction rather than action. We have done the actions we had to do, from Vitinha to the renewals of Ekuban and Badelj. We have to be ready to replace the players who will leave”.

Will there still be a search for a midfielder?
“We have five players, in retreat we will have other players in that role (like Masini for example). There is no rush”.

Roman in pole position for the goal?
“It’s a profile we’ve been following. At the moment I don’t feel like making rankings. It’s one of the profiles in the running.”

Are you okay on defense?
“We are fine both in terms of quality and quantity. In all other positions it will be a reactive market.”
