The former defender Christian Chivu he spoke to The Sports Gazette of his former teammate at Inter, Thiago Motta, now coach of Juventus and more generally of the transfer strategies of the Bianconeri. These are his statements, starting from the big objective Riccardo Calafiori: “I believe that Motta will do everything to have him in Juve: he is crucial above all for certain rotations in the set-up from the bottom. Juve is doing important things to see if it is possible to reduce the gap. Inter is ahead of everyone, it will not be easy, but Juve seems to me to be the only one who is really trying to get closer. At least for now”.
On Mister Thiago Motta Chivu then added: “Thiago knows what it means to win, first as a player and then as a coach. And he also knows that Juve had to make the compromises, focusing on young players to meet certain financial needs: so he can be perfect. And someone like that will never think that his is a leap too big, or made too soon. Already at Inter I saw a player with clear ideas in understanding the simplicity of modern football. In simple things he found the right way to do concrete things that were useful to the team. And I asked myself: how could Barcelona give up on someone like that?”.
