Di Carlo: “SPAL has made other choices for the bench. It’s a shame, we had laid the foundations”

“SPAL announces that it has entrusted Andrea Dossena with the role of technical manager of the first team. The new white and blue coach has signed a contract until June 30, 2026”: this is what the Estense club said in a press release on July 21, when it announced the coach for the coming season. Or rather, according to what was written for the next two. Regardless of the length of Dossena’s contract, however, it goes without saying that mister Domenico Di Carlo’s adventure in white and blue has ended.

The trainer had led the Estense in the last season, rather troubled, which saw Di Carlo himself dismissed on October 2, 2023 and then recalled last February 4, 2024, with the team in 18th place in the standings; the climb was successful, SPAL in fact finished in eleventh place, almost making the playoffs, but this was not enough to continue with the trainer.

Which, in the interview given exclusively to the editorial staff of TuttoMercatoWeb.comin the column Face to facespoke about this as follows: “I had waited for SPAL. Then I was told that there had been some changes. The work done was important, it wasn’t easy. But if the president decides not to continue, nothing can be done. It’s a shame, because we had laid the foundations and the right spirit, a soul, had been created”.
