De Bruyne lashes out: “Zero wins for the Golden Generation? Stupid question”

A bitter disappointment for Belgium, who exited the European Championship after the narrow defeat (1-0) suffered by France. Not so much for the result itself, but for the fact that it was achieved only after an own goal by Jan Vertonghenunlucky in deflecting a shot from Kolo Muani a few minutes from the end of the challenge. Didier’s team Deschamps in the quarter-finals will face Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, who won on penalties against Slovenia, not without a few thrills (read: the error of CR7 from the penalty spot in extra time).

And all the disappointment can be read on the face of someone like Kevin. De Bruyne who in the post-match, after having answered most of the questions of the journalists present, he blew up leaving those present without an answer after being asked what he thought of the zero victories by the so-called “Golden Generation”, as the generation of great talents that concerned him had been defined. “Do you think that Germany, Spain and France do not have a Golden Generation?” the Belgian replied angrily, then walking away while letting go of an adjective, “stupid”, to make clear his disappointment for the question asked of him.
