Inter, Ausilio: “Never put Arnautovic on the market. Gudmundsson? Always said I like him”

TMW

Peter HelpInter’s sporting director, spoke at TMW and to the other media present at the opening of the summer transfer market in Rimini. These are his statements on the Nerazzurri market: “We already have our heads set on next season. Talking about celebrations, Scudetto and titles is right to end the celebration, but we are already thinking about 2024-2025. In terms of the market we have less to do than others, the team is practically the same. We prefer to work with a certain balance, with a not too long squad made up of two players per role and three goalkeepers”.

Arnautovic to stay at Inter?
“Our position is the same as the player’s: we have never put him on the market. We are happy with his contribution this season, he has been important in many things. In addition to his performances, he has given a lot in training, in the locker room and to the young players, first and foremost to Thuram”.

Gudmundsson is a transfer target?
“I’ve said many times that I appreciate this player, but I’ve said just as many times that we are this. The team is almost ready, we’re happy and we think we have what we need. Then the market has just started and there will be opportunities or situations or players who maybe come to ask you for something that has never been asked before.”

How many requests have you had for Oristanio??
“He is in great demand. He has had a good journey, first abroad and then in Italy. He has matured a lot and now we are looking for the best project for him. He is comparing himself, with our authorization, with some clubs, like Venezia or Genoa. He will decide together with his family which project excites him the most”.

Mister Inzaghi will renew?
“Yes, of course. We’ve said it many times. Then it’s clear that the change of ownership slowed us down… We immediately put the renewal of the coach on the table, among the priorities. There is full availability on both sides and this will end with a renewal through a natural path”.

How are the Nerazzurri eliminated from the European Championship doing??
“None of us are happy, least of all them. In Italy we immediately talk about trials, but I think this is the time for reflection. Things need to be done calmly. It’s right that our people take a few days off, then I hope they can show up here more charged than ever.”
