A season at Lazio, now the Premier League: Daichi Kamada has signed with Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have announced that they have purchased Daichi KamadaThe Japanese player, who left Lazio after just one season, has signed a two-year contract.

The statement read: “The 27-year-old attacking midfielder has performed at the highest level for both club and country, and joins Palace following the expiry of his contract with Serie A side Lazio.
Kamada will reunite at Palace with manager Oliver Glasner, with whom he won the UEFA Europa League against Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021/22, scoring five times en route to the final, before converting his penalty against Rangers in Seville.

The midfielder scored 40 goals and 33 assists in just 179 appearances for Frankfurt and also lifted the 2017/18 German Cup trophy. Kamada’s career began at Sagan Tosu and continued at Sint-Truiden, a Belgian top-flight team, where he scored 25 goals in just 36 games. Originally from Iyo, Kamada has scored 7 goals in 33 games for the senior national team. Kamada thus becomes Palace’s second summer signing after the arrival of Moroccan international Chadi Riad.
