DS Arezzo: “Pattarello stays. Now I’ll take a striker and 2 full-backs”

Arezzo’s sporting director, Aniello Cutologave an interview to AmarantoMagazine.it., explaining the strategies that the Amaranths will want to follow in the next few weeks of the transfer market. Several announcements made by the former playmaker, such as the one relating to the permanence of Pattarello.

The first purchase was Gigli, a defender released from Rimini. What convinced you to take it?
“We want to increase competitiveness in the departments and he, left-footed, will partner with Chiosa. He was a free agent but it wasn’t a simple negotiation. In the end it was Gigli who chose us, he had many teams looking for him.”

Does the Mawuli deal with Sud Tirol leave the door open for a transfer of Pattarello to Bolzano?
“No. I really wanted Mawuli and the boy was happy to stay. Sud Tirol was very available in this sense. Pattarello signed a contract adjustment and extension with Arezzo six months ago. All footballers have the ambition of going up to Serie B but we are counting on him. He is happy to be here, so are we”.

How many chances are there of also retaining the other players who have returned to base at the end of their loan?
“Next week we will make in-depth assessments with Modena for Coccia. The intention is to confirm it, the timing does not depend only on us. Ditto for Renzi with Empoli, while Donati is a more background negotiation at the moment.”

And in attack? Sebastiani had been included among the confirmed, then what happened?
“I had always considered him one of the 23, he chose to go elsewhere to play with greater continuity. Gucci is a confirmation of weight not only for his technical value but also for his importance in the dressing room. I repeat that we want to take a strong centre forward to strengthen the department, while the third striker will be a young prospect”.

Many names have been circulating these days: Parigi, Polidori, Morra, Spagnoli. Are they marketable names?
“I like Paris, it’s true, and the others are good too, but I’ve never had any real negotiations with any of them. We’re looking for a first striker who can fill the area, who can see the goal and who also knows how to put together the game. I know from experience that the bomber is always the most complicated move. And it has to be done at the right time.”

Ascoli, Perugia, Pescara, Spal, Ternana in group B. Is it the most balanced of the three?
“I would add Torres and Virtus Entella. I know that when you play against teams of this caliber, it is always tough and we will have to prepare a squad that is up to par, which will largely be confirmed. I plan to start the training camp with 85% of the squad already defined: next week I would like to close for two full-backs, one right and one left.”
