There have been upheavals in the most important tournaments in the past and we know that the matches will not be easy. We have to focus on ourselves and it will depend on how we play.”
On Italy: “We gave them problems because we were aggressive from the first seconds. We won every 50-50 and we didn’t give them any breathing space.”
On his goal: “Just before the start of the second half, Granit Xhaka said to me: ‘Please score a goal.’ A few seconds later I found the ball at my feet, I did what Granit said and I shot!”.
On Switzerland as the tournament’s loose cannon: “We have shown in the past that we can compete with the biggest teams. Praise from outside doesn’t bother us, we know how good we are and we focus on ourselves.”
