Rome bids farewell to Messina: “Privilege and honor to work in such a glorious square”

Domenico Roma he has already been announced as the new sporting director of Foggia, but he wanted to say goodbye anyway Messina and decided to do it through the columns of MessinaSports. “I thank the president Pietro Sciotto for the great opportunity. I was able to work in a large place like Messina. The fans, and I mean organized groups but also simple supporters, have always helped and supported me in times of difficulty. Those who worked and collaborated with me, from the coach to the entire technical staff, from the management to the secretary, from the team manager to the warehouse workers, from the doctors to the physiotherapists. I thank the communications office, Davide Gambale and all the Messina journalists”.

However, there are some individual messages: “I thank Mario Bonsignore, who has always been close to me in difficult moments. A special thanks goes to my step-nephew, Francesco, to all the friends in Milazzo and to Alfio Felis”.

He then continues: “The greatest satisfaction is having achieved the goal we set ourselves and still having produced a good game. The credit goes to all the players, who really gave their all. The compactness of a cohesive group allowed us to achieve an objective that was not a given in the summer. Then it is clear that we could have done better, if luck had helped us a little”.

And he concludes: “It was an honor and a privilege to work in such a glorious square. I hope to leave a good memory, professionally but even more so from a human point of view. Maybe it won’t be goodbye. However, Messina deserves other categories and that is my personal wish.”
