Juventus has decided to renew Mattia Perin’s contract. He will be Michele Di Gregorio’s second, as widely decided at the beginning of this transfer session, when Wojciech Szczesny was put on the market also because of a very high salary of about 6.5 million per year. The Pole remains an unknown and a problem, because there are no offers from Saudi Arabia succulent enough and he would prefer to stay in Italy, but in a team of medium-high level, thus leaving Adriano Galliani empty-handed who has repeatedly spent for his name.
Returning to Perin, the renewal will be until June 30, 2026, thus adding one year to what is currently planned. And the contract will include an option for an automatic extension based on appearances, but also on Juve’s idea of not leaving an experienced and reliable goalkeeper on the market on a free transfer.
In short, for the next two years the couple will be Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin. The timing issue also needs to be resolved, that is, when the goalkeeper’s extension will be announced, which could arrive in September, after the transfer market has closed.
After the match against Nuremberg, Perin spoke about Thiago Motta’s requests. “I play with my feet? There’s a little more attention from that point of view and the coach isn’t asking for anything exceptional because he wants everyone to be available to show themselves, to want the ball and have the personality to want to play, but I don’t think he’s asking for the moon because if you wear this shirt, it’s the least you can do to play for Juventus.”
