Inter, Martinez is a done deal. It’s not over with Genoa: Gudmundsson remains a target

The countdown has begun, even if date X is not yet marked precisely on the calendar.InterThe Nerazzurri are waiting Josep Martinez, the goalkeeper chosen to support Yann Sommer and over time also take his place. The Spaniard is expected in Milan next week, with the usual corollary of medical visits and signing. The deal with Genoa is practically defined, a total of 15.5 million euros including bonuses.

The deal is also closed without any counterparts, despite the discussion with Genoa over Gaetano Oristanio – more convinced of finding space at Venezia – it is still an open front. Also because in Viale della Liberazione, in the usual interlocking of the Italian market, at least one sale to unblock the incoming movements remains necessary. The preference given to Martinez over Bento is a mix of technical and economic motivations, with the latter preponderant but not necessarily decisive. The belief, in essence, is to bring home a more than reliable name for the present and the future.

It’s not over with Genoait was said. In Viale della Liberazione the hypothesis resists Albert Gudmundssonthe striker that Inzaghi would like to complete the department. Because, yes, with Martinez we arrive at a team of twenty-two potential co-starters. The Icelander, however, would guarantee that something different that the excellent Nerazzurri squad seems to require. The conditio sine qua non, as is known, is the departure of Marko Arnautovic, who Inter however has no intention of showing the door.
