Carvajal: “I’m not thinking about leaving Real Madrid. Joselu leaving? Sorry, he’s my family”

During the approach to the first inside-outside challenge of these Europeans for Spain, Dani Carvajal gave an interview to the newspaper today AS to tell what awaits him once the trip to Germany is over. The 32-year-old right back actually spoke about his futureregarding the request of real Madrid to renew the contract: “At the moment I’m not thinking of leaving Madrid, quite the opposite. My subjective perception is that the day I can no longer make my contribution, I will step aside. But I’m very happy. I think I can give a lot to the club, to the team. And I’m more excited than ever.”

As for departures, however, in addition to the retirement of Toni Kroos and the uncertain farewell of Luka Modric, Joselu will certainly leave Madrid. The 34-year-old striker with whom Carvajal has a friendship relationship very close: “Joselu is my family. He is a very special person. I feel sorry for him because we were together all day and we made plans. The children playing, the holidays, training together, the trips… But I also understand his situation.”

In fact, from next season Carlo Ancelotti’s team will be full of stars, especially in attack. And Joselu would hardly find space: “In the end, life rewarded him – said the Spaniard – for the work he did throughout his career. He arrived at Real Madrid. He won a championship, a Champions League and was important… I understand his position. Mbappé is arriving, Endrick in attack and could have a lower level of participation. He receives an offer that is not very advantageous and this is understandable.”
