Russia Women’s Team Returns to the Field in Front of Fans: Double Friendly with North Korea

After three years, the Russian women’s national team will return to play in front of their home crowd at the Moskovich Stadium in Moscow. The opponent of the day will be North Korea, tenth in the FIFA Ranking, which boasts three victories in the Asian Cup (2001, 2003 and 2008) and as many successes in the Asian Games (2002, 2006 and 2014). A double friendly match that strengthens relations between the two countries in the sporting field, as well as the political-military one,

The matches will be played on 12 and 15 July and will be the first matches of 2024 for the Russian team which, we remember, like all national representatives and club teams, were excluded from all international competitions by UEFA and FIFA after the start of the conflict against Ukraine in February 2022.

For the coach’s team Yuri Krasnozan It will therefore be an opportunity to compete with another national team after a long period of isolation given that the last friendlies date back to last year with the double match against Uruguay.
