After three seasons and 120 appearances the goalkeeper Antonio Donnarumma he will leave Padova, with whom his contract is expiring, to start a new adventure elsewhere. In recent years the bond between the class of ’90 and the square has been very solid and, also, for this reason the footballer wanted to greet the city and the fans with a social post, underlining how this farewell is not due to his will. Below is his post:

“I wanted to thank you personally for these fantastic years.

Since my arrival in Padua in 2021, I have given this city, this club and above all you fans, everything I had in me. In return, you were a family to me who gave me all the love and support I could ask for.

Unfortunately, not by my will, today I find myself announcing that my journey in Padua has come to an end. Having worn these colors for more than 100 appearances, many of them as your captain, was certainly one of the proudest moments of my career.

I thank you with all my heart. I will forever be your supporter – thank you for welcoming me and treating me as one of your own.

Special thanks also go to my teammates, coaches and all the staff for their support, dedication and commitment. Without you, this fantastic journey would not have been possible.”
