Rooney on England: “Something is definitely wrong. Kane said something worrying”

Among the many big names in this Euro 2024 they are not particularly convincing, theEngland continues to cause fierce discussion. Indeed Wayne RooneyManchester United legend and current Plymouth manager, believes there is something strange about the Three Lionsin view of tonight’s match against Slovenia.

Speaking on the ‘Euros Extra’ program of BBCthe 38-year-old coach explained: “The messages coming from the field are very different from those of the last two tournaments. There is definitely something wrong (with England, ed.). I think the positive aspect of the last two matches and the situation can only improve. They will face better opponents – analyzed Rooney – so we have to improve and try to get a good victory.”

Rooney also insisted that Harry Kane and teammates must try to clarify the style of play: “For me, the players must also take their responsibilities. The captain, Harry Kane, said he didn’t know how to press (after the draw against Denmark, ed.). If I’m in that team and I go on the football pitch and I don’t know how to press or how to play, it’s a big worry and a bit worrying. And that’s when you go to the England manager, you go to the coaches and you say: ‘ Well, before going on the pitch, every single player must know how to press,'” he commented.
