France neither wins nor convinces: a penalty draw with Poland and in the round of 16 as second

France continues to not fully convince in this European Championship: after the victory over Austria, which came with an own goal, in fact the Transalpines drew the other two matches, thus closing their group in second place behind Rangnik’s red and whites. Against Poland, already eliminated, the team of Didier Deschamps dominates for a long time, but is unable to materialize except with a penalty in the second half converted by Mbappé. A goal which, however, was not enough because Lewandowski, again from a penalty, equalized the scores on one of the rare occasions of the second half.

The two strikers are among the most positive on the pitch, even if the best overall is the Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski who raises a real wall against the Galletti.

After the match, the French coach was bitter (“We wanted to win, there’s disappointment. But we have to accept the draw”), while his Polish colleague regretted the early elimination (“It’s a shame to go out, I thank the fans. Skorupski? He deserved the chance”).
