Netherlands, Koeman: “A bit disappointing result. We still have to grow”

A goalless draw for the Netherlands. After the success on the first day of the group stage against Poland, the Orange blocked France in the second round of Group D of Euro2024. An important point that brings the Orange national team 4 points on equal merit with the Transalpines. However, everything is still in the balance with qualification which will be decided in the last match that Van Dijk and his teammates will play against Austria.

At the end of the match, the technical commissioner Ronald Koeman commented: “The result is a bit disappointing, but if you think about the whole game, in some parts we lost possession when we shouldn’t have, and that wasn’t great. There was too much space between our lines and we could have done better in the second half.

I wouldn’t say it feels like a win. We want to win and score goals. We didn’t have many chances, but I imagine France will be relatively happy with the result, as are we. It’s always complicated to face a team like France. We want to play our football and be bold, but we can’t lose the ball like tonight. We have to be faster. We restart and create more opportunities in attack. We are a team that still needs to grow.”
