Liverani: “I wouldn’t be worried about Italy. Future? There are some benches to fix”

To the microphones of Sky Sports, Fabio Liverani he spoke about the European Championships and various topics related to Serie A.

Is Italy taking a step backwards or is Spain too superior?
“I wouldn’t be worried. At the moment Spain has more solutions than us, who are building something recently with Spalletti. For now, Germany and Spain have given the strongest signals. France is Mbappé-dependent.”

Is Douglas Luiz the right reinforcement for Juve?
“He is a strong player, a total midfielder: he knows how to attack, defend and score goals and this year he has confirmed himself. An important operation, the evaluation is high. They will be sure of having signed a top player, that’s why they gave him given that assessment.”

Will Mbappé play tonight?
“His point of view will count a lot. If he feels confident in his mask he will want to play, otherwise he will wait a few days to come back even better.”

Which national teams can go all the way and what was the surprise?
“For now Spain and Germany have shown something more. The disappointment is Belgium, let’s see if they will be able to return. The surprise is Austria, they showed great personality against France.”

His future?
“There are still a few benches left to fix, let’s see if I can find some situations from the start. I would prefer it, otherwise I’ll wait for something during the current season: it’s part of our job. Many benches changed, I think my friend Simone Inzaghi’s Inter will start with an advantage. Curious to see Motta at Juve, Palladino at Fiorentina and Italiano at Bologna: it will be interesting to understand how long it will take them to make an impact with their football.”
