In an interview given to ‘Olga en Vivo’, an Argentine broadcast, Mauro Icardi explains how the choice to move to Galatasaray came about: “I had no intention of coming to Galatasaray. It was something we didn’t expect because we went from Milan to Paris and we had a very good time in Paris. I didn’t want to go to Turkey, but Wanda convinced me. She said: ‘Come on, come on, this will be good for you, it will be good for you and for your career, for everything’, and I was convinced.”
The former Inter and Paris Saint-Germain player is once again at the center of some transfer rumors, as happens practically every summer, or rather at every new opening of the negotiation session. But Icardi has clear ideas about his future, at least the immediate one: “We will stay at Galatasaray next season, we’ll see later, but for now I’m staying at Galatasaray.”
Maurito he also focused on the rivalry between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce: “The Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe rivalry is incredible. This is one of the things that surprises me. There is a long history of rivalry. Many things have happened. I didn’t think there was a rivalry like ours, the Argentine ones, yes. It’s the same in Europe in general. Furthermore, the rivalry between them is crazy even on the street.”
