Switzerland, Yakin: “Shaqiri lives for evenings like these. We want to play against Germany”

Ends 1-1 between Scotland and Swiss. McTominay’s initial goal was answered by Shaqiri’s masterpiece. The Swiss, after their debut victory, move up to four points and are effectively with one foot in the round of 16. On Monday there will be the match against Germany which will determine who will advance to Group A first.

At the end of the match, the Swiss coach, Murat Yakin spoke at a press conference. These are the words of the coach.
“Shaqiri showed tonight that he lives and breathes for moments like these. He was incredibly clinical and it was the only thing he could do in that situation. Hope matters very little in games like this, it’s all about the quality you can produce on the pitch. Germany played spectacular football. We can’t wait to get out there and play. We have no doubts about that. They were down morale after the debut defeat, their pride had been hurt. I spoke to the team before the match saying that we expected pressure, that they would close the space in the center of the pitch we could win the match, but they also created opportunities”

On the differences between Scotland and Hungary
“If we compare the two teams, Scotland created more problems for us, especially in the first half. It will be a hard-fought match between Scotland and Hungary. We have played two games, we have four points, we will see what happens against Germany.”
