(ANSA) – ROME, JUNE 20 – Poland hopes to have Robert Lewandowski available tomorrow in the match against Austria and even more so in view of the match against France next Tuesday. The coach, Michal Probierz, has predicted his return for tomorrow’s match after having to do without him in his debut at Euro 2024, against the Netherlands, which coincided with the defeat. The Barcelona striker suffered a muscle injury during the last preparation match, on 10 June against Turkey, and only returned to group training last Tuesday.
It is unlikely that the national team’s top scorer (82 goals) will start tomorrow, but his presence will be useful especially when looking at the last match of the group, which could be decisive for the fate of the Poles, always provided they bring home points against the Austrians, who are in the same position, having lost on their debut against the French. Along with Lewandowski, midfielders Pawel Dawidowicz, who was also injured against Turkey, and Jakub Piotrowski, who was slightly injured on Sunday, will be available, as will defender Bartosz Salamon.
