Ollie WatkinsEngland striker, spoke on UEFA’s official channels to comment on his debut at the European Championship and the 1-1 draw with Denmark: “It’s strange to say that I made my debut at Euro 2024. It was a beautiful atmosphere, I loved every minute. It’s a shame we were a little short.”
On Denmark, the Aston Villa player born in 1995 then added: “There will be these matches. We are England and people want to beat us. It won’t be easy, we can’t simply crush teams just because we have world-class players. We have achieved one more point, and we are undefeated.”
Finally on his performance: “I like to run behind the defensive line, that’s my game. I like to cause problems for defenders. I feel like I did it, but it was difficult. Denmark did very well, it was difficult for us with their five-man defence.”
