Juve, with Douglas Luiz and Adzic slots for non-EU citizens already full: how the regulation works

The deal Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa to Juventus it is not yet armored, but in the process of being closed. And precisely this incoming movement will have consequences on the subsequent room for maneuver of the Juventus technical director Giuntoli. The midfielder’s Brazilian passport – he underlines Tuttosport – will require Juve to use one of the two seasonal slots available to sign non-EU players.

The rule has changed in recent weeks, on the occasion of a Federal Council, in a more flexible sense, opening up the availability of places even without the previous constraint of replacing a non-EU citizen already present in the squad. But the number of slots has not changed: there were two and two remain. And, in addition to the Villains midfielder, Juventus has already reached an agreement with Vasilije Adzic, born in 2006, a baby talent of Montenegrin football. Whose arrival will prevent Giuntoli from drawing on other players from outside the European Union. With two exceptions, of course.

The Juventus club – continues Tuttosport – will be able to register non-EU citizens who have a double passport, provided that the second country of origin is among the members of the organization founded in Maastricht. And, in the same way, he will be able to hire non-EU players who already play in the Italian championship. The connections between politics and football, in reality, guarantee Juventus one more possibility, not at all remote, among other things. That is, the opportunity to take two more non-EU footballers, one of English nationality and one flying the Albanian flag.
