TMW Radio
During the afternoon of TMW Radioin the window dedicated to Series C with the program To All Che intervened the Sports Director of Arzignano Mattia Serafiniwho also spoke at length about his staff, given that he is among the youngest managers on the scene: “The idea of becoming a DS came from the president of Arzignano at the time, who called me in the summer of 2015 to address this adventure. I had a second job, but I immediately accepted the offer and that year we won the championship. Over the years I have never changed as a person, but I hope I have changed in my attitudes and skills. .
Despite the algorithms, he still prefers to watch players in person.
“I believe in the support of data and videos, but I am always happy to travel kilometers to watch a match live, because it is thanks to the pitch that situations are best perceived, there is less chance of making mistakes. There are many facets to building a squad, but seeing more live games helps.”
What is your opinion of the Arzignano vintage?
“It was a difficult season, in which we all learned something. I will try to improve and make sure that this season has been truly teaching. In the end we were saved and I feel like thanking everyone. The last race was the emblem of the season. We got there with pride because, even though we went behind immediately, we then equalized and suffered together.”
What are your thoughts on Atalanta U23 and the Second Teams in Serie C in general?
“For the most famous clubs, they are a hotbed of talent, and I support this project because it gives more opportunities to many kids. Serie C is a training championship, it doesn’t give anything away. Maybe they will take away some space from some provincial teams, but these paths are welcome for the kids, especially if they are Italian.”
What do you expect from the future?
“I have dreams and a great desire to do this job. Football is my passion and I feel privileged, I hope to continue with special people. We’ll see about the rest.”
