Cannella on Fiorentina’s goals: “Lucca is a photocopy of Toni. Doubts about Retegui”

The sports director Giuseppe Cannella spoke to the microphones of Radio FirenzeViola to talk about the current affairs of Fiorentina starting from the possible market choices. This is an extract of his words regarding the attacking theme among the various names associated with the Viola: “When an attacker frequently reaches double figures it means that he gets the goal. There are attackers who mature a little later even if it must be said that our championship is different than those abroad. We are much more precise and attentive to the defensive phase. Therefore, I have doubts about Retegui’s physical condition of a player who is perhaps too recurrent with injuries. Today, exaggerated figures are immediately given for an attacker who starts scoring.”

On today’s market valuations
“For Bresciani or Colpani they ask you for almost 15 million. We are invaded by many foreigners because the clubs are often almost forced to gamble.”

About Lucca
“Lucca is a photocopy of Toni. He has a physical structure that has been affected at the bone level by his great initial growth. He has gained experience in Serie B, in Serie A and also abroad. Palladino’s last Monza had a striker , Milan Djuric, with a physical structure similar to that of Lucca, I therefore think that Palladino may prefer him.”

What do you think of Alexander Sorloth, another name circulating from a Florentine perspective?
“I’ve seen many foreign championships. In Spain, whoever scores one more goal wins. When Real Madrid plays against Real Sociedad they leave a lot of spaces. They see the goal anyway, a bit like Fulkrug. I don’t think last season was an exception, he should be reliable in front of goal. An attacker who aims when he gets in front of the goal should be caught, but if he shoots with his head down he should be improved.”
