Sampdoria, Leoni will be bought out by Padova and sold to Serie A. He will remain on loan

Waiting to be made official Pietro Accardi as the new sporting director (the Blucerchiati club aims to close by the weekend), Sampdoria is already thinking about the transfer market. As we read in the columns of Tuttosport the first move will be to redeem the young man Giovanni Leoni. The boy who arrived from Padova in January immediately impressed Pirlo, who used him often and willingly from the first minute: the Blucerchiati club will pay 1.5 million euros into Padova’s coffers (the amount set for the redemption), but the player will be then sold to Torino for a sum close to 4.5 million euros, while remaining on loan to Sampdoria for another year.

As the sports newspaper writes, cutting a young prospect is a market sacrifice aimed at allowing the club to move on the negotiations coming up during the summer, avoiding the constraints of the post-debt restructuring period after the twelve-month corporate rescue does. An “emergency” phase from which the company led by Matteo Manfredi has yet to definitively emerge. There are many potential targets – from Fulignati to Guarino, passing through La Mantia and Borrelli – but Sampdoria will also have the obligation of the active balance in this session.
