Mbappe: “Germany always comes back after setbacks. They should be in the final with France”

Kylian Mbappe terminator mode. The ace of the French national team, freshly appointed as Real Madrid’s new star signing, has only one goal in mind between now and 14 July: winning the 2024 European Championships in Germany. In the interview given to Sports Bildregarding the national team and Julian Nagelsmann who will host the prestigious tournament, commented on the 2-0 defeat suffered in March with a hint of irony: “Friendlies don’t count (laughs, ed.). Seriously: Germany has a great team. Basically the Germans are always there when something is needed, they always come back after setbacks.”

Then we turn to KM’s absolute desire to instil every positive feeling still remaining from the 2018 World Cup in Russia which he triumphed with Les Bleus to also win the upcoming European Championship. With an extra push to constantly improve on an individual level and become the best in the world: “This has always been my desire. Since I was a child – said Mbappé -, I wanted to become the best player one day. I will continue to give everything and work hard to achieve this goal. Because this is my job and part of my life: constantly improving, without losing the fun.”

After the European Championships, Champions League winners Real Madrid will present KM, who will not wear the number 7 shirt (owned by Vinicius Jr in honor of Cristiano Ronaldo) but the number 9 of the former Benzema now at Al-Ittihad. But before landing on the planet Galacticos, Mbappé wants to become European champion with his national team. And to the question if the final should be Germany-FranceMbappé responds dryly: “I agree!”.
