Italian’s Fiorentina closes their cycle by beating Atalanta. And contested by the fans

A victory on the Atalanta pitch to close the three-year period with Vincenzo Italiano on the bench in the best way possible. Fiorentina succeeds in the last mini-goal of its season, on an evening (that of the Gewiss) more in the spirit of farewells off the pitch (Orsato also greeted) than what actually happened inside the green rectangle, also considering there is almost nothing at stake.

Two goals from Belotti, one from Nico Gonzalez (who even apologized at the moment of the celebration, rewinding the tape backwards towards the disappointing final lost in Athens) and the debut of the baby talent of the Martinelli goal: these are the main aspects given as a gift by the field but, we repeat, there was more out there. Starting for example from the protest staged by the Fiorentina fans present at the Gewiss Stadium.

At the end of the match, however, the official parting of ways between Fiorentina and its coach was established in the last three years. Sports director Pradè anticipated it, with immediate confirmation from the Italian himself, who did not want to hold back his emotions in the press room: “We all took this definitive decision together not so many weeks ago. I think it is also right for all the discussions that we have done, you reach a certain point where you have to stop. Whoever arrives, I am convinced that they will be able to continue a path that will leave something improved, I hope I have left something to this group, I think it has been a positive three years it was not having added that cup, but as Gasperini told me, the routes are valid and will be remembered.”
