Cremonese: only 5 times in Venice did she do what she needed to get into Serie A

Challenge number four of the season between Venice And Cremonese will be decisive to know the last team that will play in the next Serie A championship. This season the balance between these two teams is in perfect balance with one win each and a draw (the one in the first leg of the play off final).

During the regular season Cremonese beat Venezia 1-0 at home with a goal from Ravanelli (who arrived with the Grigiorossi with ten men due to Antov’s expulsion). In the return leg, however, Venezia won 2-1, coming from behind. Cremonese took the lead with Vazquez, then Gytkjær and Bjarkason managed to overturn the score.

In tonight’s final the orange-greens, by virtue of the best position achieved at the end of the championship, have two results out of three (victory and draw) available to obtain promotion. Although, it must be said that if the match ended in a draw there would be extra time to play: in the event of a further draw, no penalties but passage to the top category for Venezia.

There are only five out of 30 matches played between the Serie B and Serie C championships, the successes of Cremonese on the Venezia pitch (a result that the Grigiorossi would need today to return to Serie A). The Lombards’ last success in the Lagoon was on 24 August 2019: 1-2 with goals from Mogos and Castagnetti, interspersed with a temporary equalizer from Modolo.
