The commitments for Euro2024 are approaching and Luciano Spalletti is arranging the last pieces to present himself at his best in the competition of which the Italian national team is the holder of the trophy (2021). Some of the Italian coach’s call-ups have caused discussion, above all that of Nicolò Fagioli who has just come out of his betting ban. But the director of the Corriere dello Sport, Ivan Zazzaroniduring “Deejay Football Club” on the frequencies of Radio Deejay placed the emphasis on some players called up from Italian champions Inter:
“Are Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolò Barella not at the level of Gianluigi Donnarumma? In my opinion, no, but Barella is certainly the best player of the national team, outside of those who run. Would Barella play in any team in the world? Yes, he is an extremely important and then technically developed a lot. He is a player of great personality, I say Donnarumma, I put Barella second, yes, he is a very good defender but I don’t consider him a champion.”
