“It’s a shame, really. Fiorentina played to win the match. Olympiacos found a goal at the last minute: these are the finals, it happens…”. Agent Matthias Veneroso told TuttoMercatoWeb.com about Fiorentina’s defeat last Wednesday in the Conference League final by Olympiacos in the final minutes of the match. “The victory – explains the market operator – would have been the right and deserved ending to close a journey. It’s a shame that they lost, given the type of journey they made and what they experienced, it would have been nice to lift the trophy at the end of the season. But Fiorentina comes out of the competition with the awareness of being a strong, competitive and equipped team to do well in Europe and not just in Italy.”
Anyone who impressed you among your opponents?
“Chiquinho (midfielder born in 1995, ed.) made an excellent impression on me, a player with excellent potential and who can do well. In any case, Fiorentina must start again knowing that they are strong and equipped.”
Chiquinho’s statements.
To the official UEFA microphones after the final, the Olympiacos midfielder had his say on the Italiano team and more generally on Italian teams: “We know that Italian teams are always very strong. Above all offensively they are good. With Benfica last year I lost in the Champions League quarter-finals against another Italian team, Inter. But a final is a final, you never know what can happen. We are physically and mentally prepared and we just want to make the whole country proud.”
