Ransom and counter-ransom, Abline returns to Rennes: Nantes will receive 8 million

Matthis Abline returns to Rennes. After a season which saw him establish himself in the French top flight and also become a point of reference for Thierry Henry’s Under-21 team, the young striker was bought out by Nantes, who had decided to exercise the option agreed upon at the time of loan with the Bretons and to pay 6 million.

Somewhat surprisingly, however, the Rossoneri exercised the counter-redemption option by paying 8 million into the yellow-green coffers. Thus, Abline will play in Rennes and will try to surpass the tally of 5 goals and 1 assist accumulated in the 24 seasonal matches played.
