Milan ended their season yesterday, but it is already in the future. Fonseca’s announcement soon

Milan’s 2023-2024 season definitively ended yesterday with a 2-5 defeat in a friendly against Roma. In Perth, Australia, the Rossoneri led by Daniele Bonera, temporary coach waiting for the new coach to be made official, ended the first half 2-1 behind (goals from Baldanzi, Theo Hernandez and Abraham) and then conceded spread of the Giallorossi in the second half with goals from Angelino, Dybala and Azmoun. It should be noted, however, that Milan were not very lucky at the Optus Stadium, considering the three posts hit (Jimenez’s crossing of the posts in the second half was sensational).

Everyone on the field
Daniele Bonera gave space to almost everyone who was available, including several young Primavera players such as Jimenez (on the pitch for the entire match after the injury suffered with the Primavera three months ago), Nava, Bartesaghi, Zeroli and Simic. In Perth there was also Olivier Giroud’s last appearance in the red and black shirt, who only played the first half. Finally, it is worth mentioning the splendid goal of the momentary 1-1 by Theo Hernandez with a perfect left-footed volley from the edge of the area assisted by Adli.

And it’s already the future
And now we immediately have to think about the future. The pre-season training camp will begin by July 10th at Milanello with the classic training day and will certainly see the presence of the new coach; in all likelihood, the person identified for this role is Paulo Fonseca. The signing of the Portuguese announcer as the new Devil’s coach is expected next week. Contacts with his entourage are constant and the final proposal is put together: a two-year contract worth 2.5 million euros plus bonuses is ready. There will also be a third year option.
