Tegola on the eve of the Italy rally: Acerbi stops, he won’t be in Germany

Luciano Spalletti’s national team lost one of its protagonists on the eve of the meeting in Coverciano: Francesco Acerbi was forced to raise the white flag due to groin pain and will not take part in the expedition to Germany. The defender born in 1988 will undergo surgery on Monday in order to recover for the Nerazzurri’s new season. In his place, Federico Gatti, a defender who – at least for the moment – will train in his headquarters and not in the Azzurri’s technical centre.

The retreat will officially begin in the next few hours and during the first few days Giorgio Scalvini and Gianluca Scamacca will not be present: the two players will be involved in recovery against Fiorentina on June 2nd and only the following day will they be able to arrive in Coverciano to begin training with rest of the group.
